Decreasing the workplace prejudices and discrimination against older workers is a growing focus all over the developed world. Ageism within an organization not only has a negative effect on older workers, it also has a downward stream consequence for the company's productivity and performance. The discriminatory practices, attitudes, and perceptions surrounding older workers may be amplified through interactions with co-workers and management regarding job opportunities, promotions, and performance evaluations. These factors may greatly impact the experiences and attitudes of older workers and diminish organizational production as well as our society.
